Decanter reviews Querciabella Riserva 2016 as one of the best tastings at Chianti Classico Collection.
The annual event hosted at Stazione Leopolda, Florence, is arguably one of the most exciting happenings in the wine calendar and offers the perfect occasion for a thorough tasting across communes, vintages and categories. Michaela Morris, the international wine writer and educator, is a Chianti Classico Ambassador ad Honorem and one of Decanter’s contributors for Italy. In her full report for the online version of the magazine, Querciabella Chianti Classico Riserva 2016 was awarded 94/100.
“Querciabella’s 10,000 bottle annual production Riserva is a selection of superior lots. It blends fruit from Greve where their vineyards range from 350 to 550 metres, with grapes from Radda’s high altitude stony sites and Gaiole’s limestone-rich soils. The 2016 is restrained but precise. Intriguing.”
